Project Description

Ferry BD Bodiky

Introducing the new FERRY – Kompa BD Bodiky

The minimalist and clean design focused on form, utility and efficiency of production were created in cooperation with the Slovak branch of the Belgian engineering company MULTI engineering, the SAM Shipbuilding and Machinery in Komárno and the Bratislava design studio WERKEMOTION.

02. Design Process

Development

The minimalist and clean design focused on form, utility and efficiency.

Concept Phase

The main goal was to differentiate the new ferry from other similar vessels in service.

During the sketch phase, we were looking for different solutions on how to work with materials and volumes while keeping a simplistic and utilitarian approach.

Prototyping Phase

WERKEMOTION Studio cooperated with Multi engineers and SAM Shipyard to create and supervise 3D manufacturing data.

It is a process of communication and multiple variants to bring new ideas from the concept phase to the actual final product that meets all safety and construction regulations.

05. Manufacturing

Technical drawings

3D data were turned into technical drawings for shipyard workers and welders to be used as a reference during the shipbuilding process.

07. Collaboration

Ferry BD Bodiky was created thanks to a collaboration between Werkemotion design studio, engineers from MULTI engineering and SAM Shipbuilding and machinery in Komárno, Slovakia.
